These images were taken in the northern and western highlands of Scotland. Glen Affric near Loch Ness is a vision of what Scotland must have looked like before deforestation: native Caledonian pine forest on the shores of tranquil lochs, ringed by snow-capped mountains. Glencoe has some of the most striking and accessible mountain scenery in the west highlands. The Isle of Skye is a microcosm of Scotland, with dramatic peaks and coastline.
