I reached Stourhead before dawn on a clear day in mid March. As I hoped, the daffodils were at their best and bowed down under a cover of sparkling frost, making a magical image. Having selected my composition, I waited until the rising sun was raking light across the foreground. A few minutes of sun was enough to start melting the frost. The Pantheon across the lake is a tiny part of the image but the key focal point of the composition.
