This striking rock with a double arch is located near Cloveley on the North Devon coast. I first visited during mid morning in late May and worked out that the tide would have fallen just enough by sunset to reveal an interesting foreground, so I returned the same evening. Low sun over my left shoulder imparted attractive saturated colours to the main subject and raking light across the foreground. I was even more impressed by the texture of the rocks, receding water and sky so I converted the resulting image to monochrome.
