I have spent a good number of days photographing red squirrels from hides but the perfect positioning of this one, eating a hazel nut, stands out from the others. I like the posture of the squirrel, the well-proportioned perch on which it is sitting and the uncluttered background. If you look closely, you can see that it was raining when I made the image.
