Sidewinding adder

Sidewinding adders (Bitis peringueyi) are superbly camouflaged in desert sand, enabling them to seize small reptiles with their poison fangs. I found this young adder in the Namib Desert and photographed it using a 180mm macro lens to fill the frame, whilst keeping a safe distance.
