The red-tailed sportive lemur is nocturnal, spending the day in a cosy hideaway such as this hollow tree trunk. Bright morning sunshine at this location was tricky. I waited for the dappled shadows of overhanging branches to move away from its face and then used fill-in flash to soften harsh shadows within the tree trunk.
