Stonehenge Under The Stars
I wanted to image the stone circle at night with the stars as background. I waited several weeks for suitable weather and arranged access with English Heritage. The result was this 15 minute exposure, showing the movement of the stars caused by earth's rotation. In order to minimise digital noise from a single long exposure, I assembled the image from thirty, 30 second exposures overlaid in Photoshop. The stones themselves are illuminated by my hand torch, painting them with light while the camera's shutter was open. For more photographs, see my Stonehenge Gallery.
