The fourth largest of the Channel Islands, Sark has 600 residents but no cars. For visitors, transport is by bicycle or horse drawn carriage. I was intrigued by the photographic potential of La Coupee, a narrow isthmus connecting Big Sark and Little Sark, so I made a number of excursions to photograph it during a three day visit to the island. Having enquired when a horse and carriage would be crossing La Coupee, I selected a viewpoint to show the elevated roadway winding its way from Little Sark with the blue ocean beyond.
