Hummingbird Hawkmoth

Exceptional numbers of migratory insects have reached the British Isles in summer 2026. A splendid example of parallel evolution, hummingbird hawkmoths are fascinating to watch as they hover to sip nectar. I used a shutter speed of 1/8000 second but even so the wingtips are slightly blurred by motion.
