Sgwd Isaf Clun-gwyn

Sgwd Isaf Clun-gwyn (“The Falls of the Lower White Meadow”) near Ystradfellte in Bannau Brycheiniog(Brecon Beacons) National Park is the most impressive waterfall in southern Britain. I positioned myself to capture its multiple tiers with a rivulet of water and some fallen leaves on the right hand side forming the foreground. In fairly bright overcast conditions a polarising filter gave a shutter speed of 0.6 seconds and reduced reflections from the wet rocks, but also created flare in the dark areas towards the top of the picture. To overcome this I took a further exposure without the filter and merged it.
