Solar Eclipse, Castillo de la Raya

On 12 August 2026, a total solar eclipse swept across northern Spain during the hour before sunset. I positioned myself 500m away from Castillo de la Raya on the border of Castile and Aragon, so the angle subtended by the castle was the same as the elevation of the sun in the sky. A 300mm lens and five bracketed exposures enabled me to capture the moment before the last rim of the sun disappears behind the Moon, creating this beautiful Diamond Ring.
