Total Solar Eclipse

Solar Eclipse Art. Captured in the space of two minutes on 12 August 2026, this image comprises nine frames taken in 10 seconds at the beginning of totality and nine frames in 10 seconds at the end of totality, overlaid with one frame from mid-totality. All are combined with lighten mode to show the progression of Baily's Beads as totality begins and ends. Baily's Beads are caused by irregularities in the rim of the Moon, resulting in beams of sunlight shining through valleys whilst adjacent parts of the sun's disk are hidden behind hills.
