CINEREOUS VULTURES ON DEAD TREE

The cinereous (or Eurasian black) vulture is the largest Old World vulture, playing an important role in eating carcasses throughout its range. I photographed this pair from a hide in Bulgaria’s Rhodope Mountains, to which they have been reintroduced since 2022 as part of a re-wilding programme.
