LIONS DEVOURING BUFFALO

Setting off from camp before sunrise, we headed into Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park towards where a pride of lions had been seen the previous evening. We heard baboons' alarm calls and then the sounds of buffalo in distress, which led us to an injured lioness. A little further on the rest of her pride of 10 had brought down the buffalo and were tucking in.
