Knot taking off from The Wash

Up to 50,000 knot (Calidris canutus) spend the autumn and winter months feeding on the mudflats of The Wash around Snettisham in west Norfolk. The highest tides of the year cover the mudflats, forcing the knot to take to the air in a spectacular murmuration.
