Black Grouse Fighting

Male black grouse compete for females by displaying at a lek. Sometimes competition escalates into sparring, even when no females are present. Having arrived at a hide in darkness and waited for sunrise, I photographed these two at a lek in eastern Finland using a shutter speed of 1/2,000th second to freeze the action.
